About Hen & Mills

Hen & Mills is written from Melbourne by someone who genuinely loves this stuff. We cover new releases, the industry behind them, and the occasional story that is simply too good to leave alone. A $400 diver gets the same attention here as a $40,000 chronograph, because the interesting question is rarely the price.

The site runs in two halves. News reports what is new, with the full specification and the price in every currency we can verify. The Bench explains how watches actually work, one subject at a time, for anyone who has ever fallen down that particular rabbit hole at midnight.

How we work

We follow the industry across brand pressrooms, launches, auctions and the trade press, and we write every story in our own words. Specifications, prices and dates come from the manufacturer wherever possible, and where something reaches us through another publication we credit them by name. If we cannot verify a detail, we leave it out.

What we don’t do

We don’t republish other outlets’ writing or photography, we don’t take payment for coverage, and we don’t let a commercial relationship decide what we cover or what we conclude. When we get something wrong, we correct it and say so.
