Hamilton gives Captain Price a black-PVD Khaki Field

Hamilton has built another in-game watch that can leave its digital setting. Announced on 17 September 2026, reference H69469930 will be worn by Captain Price in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. It is based on the familiar 38 mm hand-wound field-watch formula, but the black-PVD case, rough dial and small game-specific marks make this more considered than a logo placed on an existing colourway. It is the Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical Call of Duty Special Edition.

A Khaki Field shaped around Captain Price

The stainless-steel case is 38 mm across and 9.5 mm thick, with a sandblasted black PVD coating that removes the shine found on many contemporary military-styled watches. Its 20 mm lug width takes a khaki-green textile strap and black-PVD pin buckle. Hamilton says the design draws from its British-issued General Service watches as well as modern tactical equipment, a connection chosen to match Captain Price's British Army background rather than the broader American history of the Khaki line.

The dial is black with a heavily grained finish. Grey Arabic numerals, a minute track and block hour markers keep the basic field-watch hierarchy intact, while a yellow triangle at 12 and a yellow tip on the central seconds hand supply the sharpest colour. The numeral four uses typography drawn from the game's mark. These references are visible when you look for them, but they do not replace the hours with franchise symbols or make the watch difficult to read as a watch.

Black-on-grey can easily become a styling exercise that sacrifices contrast, particularly when the hands and numerals sit close in tone. Here the oversized Arabic numerals and full minute track preserve the practical order of the standard Khaki Field. The yellow marks are not necessary for telling the time, but they keep the monochrome surface from becoming flat. Hamilton has used the collaboration to change the dial's texture and accents while leaving its basic navigation intact.

Hamilton applies Grade X2 Super-LumiNova to the numerals, hour markers and hands. The official launch page shows the dial illuminated as a broad ring of markers rather than just a pair of glowing hands. A sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating protects the face. Water resistance is 5 bar, or 50 metres, which is modest beside purpose-built sports watches. The black coating and military theme should not be mistaken for a higher depth rating.

Hand winding keeps it close to the base model

Inside is Hamilton's H-50 hand-wound mechanical movement, fitted here with a Nivachron balance spring. The stated power reserve is 80 hours, so a fully wound watch can sit for more than three days before stopping. There is no date window and no automatic rotor. Winding remains a direct part of using the watch, while the dial stays free of a calendar aperture.

The solid back carries an engraved waveform identified by Hamilton as a Modern Warfare soundwave, along with Hamilton x Call of Duty branding. It is a better use of the collaboration than putting more text on the dial, and it leaves the movement choice hidden behind a purpose-made graphic. The package extends that treatment with a leather presentation case modelled on a traditional cigar case, another reference to Captain Price. Hamilton does not state a production limit, so Special Edition should not be read as Limited Edition.

There is a useful tension in the result. On one side, the rough black surface, green strap and yellow accents fit the game's visual world with little explanation. On the other, the 38 mm diameter, 9.5 mm height and manual movement are unusually restrained for entertainment merchandise. The watch is not trying to mimic an on-screen instrument with artificial controls. It remains a three-hand field watch, made identifiable through finish and detail rather than extra complication.

Hamilton has experience creating watches for fictional settings, but the stronger point here is that the retail version does not require knowledge of the game to function visually. Remove the tiny marks and the waveform and the proportion still works. For a Call of Duty collector, those details establish the link. For someone approaching it as a Khaki Field, the black-PVD treatment and game references provide the visible differences. The collaboration succeeds or fails on that balance, not on whether a character wears it during a cutscene.
