Raymond Weil has expanded the Toccata Heritage with a new round 28mm collection, announced on 4 September 2026. Nine references make up the release, spanning steel and gold-coloured finishes, straps and bracelets, plus diamond-set options. The black-dial diamond model shown here is reference 5250-SCS-20001.

The collection draws on a Raymond Weil watch from 1977 and arrives during the independent Geneva brand's 50th-anniversary year. Instead of copying the earlier design line for line, the new watches use a contemporary quartz movement, sapphire crystal and several case and bracelet treatments around the same compact round format.

A 28mm case with a jewellery edge

Reference 5250-SCS-20001 has a 28mm stainless-steel case that is 7.45mm thick. Its bezel is set with 48 brilliant-cut laboratory-grown diamonds totalling 0.408 carats. The stones create a continuous border around the black dial without changing the watch's small overall diameter.

Applied baton indexes replace the redesigned Roman numerals used on some of the other references. Matte obelisk hands display the hours and minutes, and a minute track is placed around the dial's outer edge. There is no date window or seconds hand interrupting the layout.

The crown carries a blue lacquer detail. That small area of colour stands apart from the steel, black dial and diamond bezel, and it is especially visible in profile. A sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating protects the dial.

Raymond Weil describes the crystal treatment across the broader launch as a Glass Box construction, intended to create visual depth above the dial. On this black reference, the side view also makes the slim case and raised bezel easier to understand than a straight-on product shot alone.

Quartz keeps the proportions thin

A Swiss-made quartz movement powers the watch. The calibre is 2.5mm high, helping the full case stay below 7.5mm. Quartz also suits a two-hand watch intended for regular wear because it removes the need for daily winding and keeps the dial free of additional displays.

Water resistance is rated to 30 metres. The case uses a snapped back, while the front is protected by sapphire rather than mineral glass. These specifications position the model as a compact dress watch, with splash resistance rather than sports-watch capability.

The two-hand format keeps the dial visually restrained. With no running seconds to crowd the centre, the matt obelisk hands, applied markers and diamond border do the work. The result depends more on proportion and surface contrast than on added functions.

The strap is black calfskin leather with a lizard-effect texture. A conventional stainless-steel buckle secures it. Across the nine-reference collection, Raymond Weil also offers integrated metal bracelets and cases with rose-gold or yellow-gold PVD finishes, while selected versions add diamond bezels.

One reference within a broader anniversary range

The new round models sit alongside the shaped Toccata Heritage watches that Raymond Weil released earlier. The distinction matters because the 2026 launch is not a single dial update. It introduces a separate 28mm round expression with its own case profile, crown treatment and selection of straps or integrated bracelets.

Raymond Weil says the original proportions have been preserved from the 1977 inspiration, while the case engineering and finishing have been updated. The result is recognisably vintage in scale, but its laboratory-grown diamonds, anti-reflective sapphire and quartz construction belong to the current catalogue.

The black reference is the clearest high-contrast option in the group. Its matt obelisk hands and applied markers stand against a plain dark dial, while the bezel supplies nearly all of the ornament. Buyers who prefer a less jewellery-led finish can look to the non-diamond references within the same nine-watch release.

Raymond Weil Toccata Heritage 5250-SCS-20001 pricing and availability

Raymond Weil lists reference 5250-SCS-20001 at AU$3,950 on its Australian online store. The page currently presents the watch for purchase, although stock can change after publication. The price is the standard Australian list figure displayed by the brand, not a currency conversion.

The broader release contains nine references, so prices will vary with case finish, bracelet and diamond setting. The AU$3,950 figure applies specifically to the 28mm stainless-steel watch with black dial, 48-diamond bezel and black leather strap covered here.

Other references need to be assessed against their own local product pages, because materials and prices differ across the collection.

For Australian buyers, the combination is unusually specific at this size: a 28mm steel case, 7.45mm thickness, Swiss quartz movement, anti-reflective sapphire crystal and a fully diamond-set bezel. Raymond Weil has also provided an exact local price, making this reference the most complete way to assess the new collection without mixing specifications from several variants.
