Sugess's Heritage S463 BB GMT gets a geode-textured dial for US$259
Sugess has put a heavily speckled dial on the Heritage S463 BB GMT, with the 24-hour scale engraved into the steel bezel and an 11mm case, for US$259.

US$259 usually buys a flat sunray dial and nobody says a word about it. Sugess has spent the effort somewhere else. The Heritage S463 BB GMT arrives with a heavy speckled texture right across the dial, in blue or in turquoise green, and it reads more like a cut slab of geode than anything you normally get down here.
Both went up on Sugess's own store on 11 August.
The 24-hour scale is cut into the steel
There is no insert on this watch. No ceramic, no aluminium, no lume. The numbers are engraved straight into a brushed steel bezel with a straight orange GMT hand running over them, and anyone who has spent time around a Rolex 1655 will clock the look immediately. The rest is Sugess's own: a big white arrow at twelve, round applied markers, batons at the quarters, date at three.
What Sugess hasn't said is whether the bezel turns, and that is not a small gap. A rotating 24-hour bezel gives you a third time zone. A fixed one just sits there being read. The photos show a smooth edge with nothing to grip, which points to fixed, but that is a guess until the brand prints it.
Peacock's SL3032, with the figures filled in
The movement is the Peacock SL3032, automatic, and this time Sugess has printed the numbers it left off the Seestern S474 GMT it listed two days earlier: 4 Hz, 28,800 beats an hour, more than 40 hours of reserve, date. A frequency and a power reserve on the listing at this money counts as progress, and it should be said out loud more often.
One question carries over from that S474 listing. Sugess still won't say whether the local hour hand jumps on its own. Being able to shift the local hand without stopping the watch is most of the point of a travel GMT, so that silence matters more than the spec sheet does.
Eleven millimetres, which is the other good bit
The case is 316L steel, 39.5mm across, 48mm lug to lug and 11mm thick, under sapphire, on a 20mm steel bracelet, good for 100 metres. GMT modules tend to add height, and plenty of watches in this class sit at 13 or 14mm, so eleven is genuinely worth having. Take it as the case on its own, though. Sugess quotes the 11mm without the 'with crystal' figure it gave for the S474.
Blue plays it safe, the green does not
The blue is the sensible pick and the photography is kinder to it. The green is a bright turquoise shot through with gold and pale flecks, sitting closer to a mineral specimen than to any green you would call forest or racing.
At US$259 this lands on a shelf already stacked with NH34-powered microbrand GMTs, and the dial is the entire argument for it. If the texture does nothing for you, there isn't much left to weigh up, because the SL3032 has almost no track record outside China and no clear answer on servicing. If you want one here it's a direct order, because Sugess sells and ships off its own store in US dollars, and nothing has been said about an Australian price.
