Tissot gives the PRX chronograph a quartz route

A 41 mm steel case, shaped pushers and three brushed dial options bring chronograph timing to the PRX at A$775 in blue.

Tissot has extended the PRX line with a 41 mm quartz chronograph, announced on 15 September 2026. The watch keeps the collection's integrated stainless-steel shape, adds two pushers without breaking the case profile and comes in silver, black and blue dial treatments. In Australia, the blue reference T137.417.11.041.00 is listed at A$775.

The pushers follow the PRX case

The PRX began as a simple three-hand design whose identity depends on its broad case shoulders and integrated bracelet. A chronograph adds hardware to that clean outline, so the shape of the pushers matters. Tissot forms them to sit close to the 41 mm stainless-steel case rather than attaching conventional round buttons.

The result keeps the crown side visually continuous. The upper and lower pushers emerge from the same angular profile as the case, giving the controls enough area to use without making them look separate from the design. At 11.65 mm thick, the blue Australian reference remains relatively slim for a multi-register chronograph.

The case measures 41 mm in both length and width and weighs 151 grams on its stainless-steel bracelet. A sapphire crystal covers the dial, and the case is rated to 10 bar, equivalent to 100 metres. Those figures preserve the practical specifications expected from the current PRX family.

Tissot fits a quick-release bracelet, allowing it to be removed without a conventional spring-bar tool. The integrated shape still means any replacement needs to suit the case connection, but the release system makes changes and cleaning simpler.

Three counters sit inside a brushed field

The vertically brushed dial carries circled chronograph counters. Their borders separate the timing displays from the main dial without relying only on colour contrast. A date window sits at four o'clock, positioned between the lower counters rather than replacing an hour marker at three or six.

Baton hands and applied indexes carry Super-LumiNova. The treatment is functional rather than extensive, providing reference points in low light while leaving the counters and date focused on daylight legibility. Slim hands also keep the central display from masking too much of the subdials.

The three dial executions take different approaches. The silver dial uses rose-gold-coloured indexes for a warmer contrast. The black version pairs its dark field with nickelled indexes. The blue version uses the brushing to create changing reflections and applies white details across the counters and date.

The blue reference is the version currently detailed on Tissot's Australian product page. Its reference is T137.417.11.041.00, and the official photography confirms a blue dial, three circled counters, baton markers and a contrasting white date disc.

Quartz keeps the chronograph accessible

Tissot uses its G10.212 PowerDrive quartz chronograph movement. The product page lists a central 60-second chronograph hand, a 30-minute counter and a one-tenth-of-a-second counter, together with ADD and SPLIT timing functions. It also includes an end-of-life indicator for the battery.

That movement choice is central to the watch's position. A mechanical chronograph needs considerably more depth and a more complex winding and timing mechanism. Quartz allows Tissot to keep the case at 11.65 mm, provide one-tenth timing and place the Australian price below four figures.

The movement also changes the ownership routine. There is no rotor to wind the watch through wrist motion and no mainspring reserve to manage. The battery supplies the energy until the end-of-life display signals that replacement is approaching.

The PRX range already includes mechanical and quartz models, so the technology does not sit outside the collection. Here it supports a specific purpose: adding a chronograph at a lower price and with less thickness than an automatic equivalent would normally require.

Familiar dimensions carry more information

At 41 mm, the Quartz Chronograph is larger than the standard 40 mm PRX three-hander but remains close to its established scale. The extra millimetre makes room for three counters and a date without pushing the design into an oversized case category.

The 13 mm lug width listed by Tissot refers to the bracelet connection within the integrated case. It is narrow relative to the case diameter because the outer case shoulders provide much of the visual width. This is one reason an ordinary straight-ended strap would not reproduce the original profile.

Water resistance of 100 metres and a sapphire crystal make the watch suitable for regular use beyond formal settings. The chronograph pushers, date and luminous markers add functions, but Tissot has not reduced the core case protection to accommodate them.

The price makes the watch a distinct PRX proposition rather than a substitute for the range's automatic chronographs. Its shaped pushers, one-tenth timing, 100-metre rating and quick-release steel bracelet are delivered through quartz, with the 11.65 mm case keeping the integrated profile under control.
